Inspire Orthodontics -
Young Bud Programme

Supporting growing smiles, every step of the way.

The 'Young Bud' Programme is a complimentary service, where Dr. Luke will monitor your child’s dental development.  It is designed to support growing smiles during the most important developmental years. We advise for Orthodontic Screenings to begin at the age of 7.

It’s all about timing

We focus on early monitoring, guidance, and prevention, helping children develop healthy teeth and jaws as they grow.

What we look for:

  • Jaw growth and bite development.

  • Crowding or spacing of teeth.

  • Habits such as thumb sucking or mouth breathing.

  • Early signs that orthodontic treatment may be needed later.

Why monitor early

Early guidance can:

  • Help reduce the complexity of future treatment.

  • Allow treatment to be timed for the best results.

  • Support healthy jaw development.

  • Provide peace of mind for parents

Our Philosophy

Not every child needs orthodontic treatment and that’s entirely the point. The Young Bud Programme is designed to gently guide and monitor your child’s growth and development, allowing us to intervene only when the timing is optimal and truly beneficial.

A question we’re often asked is: “If we join, does that mean braces are inevitable?”  Absolutely not. Many children simply continue under observation, with no immediate treatment required — and some may not require orthodontic treatment at all.

Our priority is thoughtful timing, not unnecessary intervention.

You will be required to take photos of child's teeth and smile using our Orthodontic Screening link, which will be sent to you via text and email at the required time. You are not required to come to the clinic, saving you time and money.

The Process

The Next Steps

Once your photos have been submitted, Dr Luke will carefully review them and will let you know the next steps. Most commonly:

  • We’ll organise for another orthodontic screening check in 6, 9 or 12 months,

       or

  • If the time is right to begin orthodontic treatment, we’ll invite you into the clinic for an in-clinic review.

In the meantime...

In the meantime, we advise our patients to:

  • Brush and floss twice a day. Keeping teeth and gums healthy is super important.

  • Keep up to date with their ortho screenings.

  • See their Dentist for their scheduled check-ups and cleans.

  • Call us if you have any concerns.
